As Bobbi Kristina remains in a coma
at Emory University Hospital, two family members on her father's side
got into a fight at a nearby hotel, the Atlanta Police Department
confirmed to Us Weekly on Friday, Feb. 6.

According to the police statement, Bobby Brown, whose 46th birthday was on Feb. 5, was not there to witness the tussle at the W Hotel in midtown Atlanta. The incident took place early Friday, with police receiving a "fight call" after one member was bloodied. The APD told Us that they responded at 1 a.m.
"One victim Shayne Brown was struck in the head with a bottle by suspect Tina Brown," the APD spokesperson told Us. "Mr. Shayne Brown chose to drive himself to the hospital. Mrs. Tina Brown left the scene before police arrived."

Tina is Bobby's sister and Shayne is his 30-year-old cousin. Shayne previously made headlines a decade ago in May 2005 when he was stabbed at age 21 during a fight at a local restaurant.
"The motive of the fight is unclear at this time," Atlanta police added in the statement to Us. "Mr. Shayne Brown received lacerations to his head. A police report is being generated."

Brown and Houston family members have gathered in Atlanta as Bobbi Kristina remains in a coma at the Emory University Hospital. The music scion was found unresponsive, facedown in a bathtub in her home this past Saturday, and was placed in a medically induced coma.
One day after Bobbi was found, her father released a statement to Us about his baby girl. "Privacy is requested in this matter," he said. "Please allow for my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time."

On his birthday Thursday, Brown — who has been by his daughter's side since her hospitalization — stepped out for a smoke break with Gary Michael Houston, the nephew of his late ex-wife Whitney Houston. He told Access Hollywood that his daughter was "good" and that the family was "praying."
