First Teresa Giudice, now Lisa Vanderpump…the Real Housewives just can’t keep themselves away from legal drama! This time, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump is the target — and the fallout could prevent her from opening a a bar in West Hollywood.
Lisa Vanderpump, the owner of a gay bar? Seems too crazy to be true, but until a little legal snag got in the way, that was the Real Housewives star’s exact plan. But the LuLu Restaurant Group isn’t too impressed with this plan, which is why Ryan Carillo and Andrew Gruver have decided to open up a lawsuit against Lisa and her husband, Ken Todd.
Apparently, the LuLu Group was set to open a gay bar that would have operated under the moniker ‘Bar Varsity.’ The proposed bar would have been located at the former site of the Java Detour coffee house. Unfortunately for the LuLu Group, this deal fell through as a result of funding issues. But representatives from LuLu allege that Lisa and Ken took advantage of these circumstances and planned to open a very similar bar in the exact same location. Thus, the celebrity couple is accused of committing fraud, breach of contract and deceit, charges for which the LuLu Group is seeking $4 million in compensation.
Lisa and Ken insist that they are completely innocent of all charges. “We had no prior knowledge of Ryan Carrillo and Andrew Gruver or their claim… We took the lease in good faith seven months ago and all of our applications and notices have been posted publicly.”
Is this simply another case of celebrities being exploited for their fortune? Or could Lisa Vanderpump really be guilty of fraud? Sound off in the comments section below!
